The Cannflavin Difference

The compounds that make hemp a health sensation.

Cannflavins are a small family of flavonoids that hemp produces almost uniquely in the plant kingdom. First isolated in 1985, they have become one of the more closely watched molecules in plant science.

The cannflavin family: Cannflavin A, B and C drawn as chemical structures, with the activities studied in the lab — anti-inflammatory, pain relief and neuroprotective.

Cannflavin A — The original. Isolated in 1985, and still the most studied of the three.

Cannflavin B — Synthesized in the lab — which is what let research move past trace extraction.

Cannflavin C — The third of the family, turning up in the same preclinical screens.

Researchers at Dalhousie University reported that cannflavin A limited bladder cancer cells in the lab — and that it appeared to work alongside chemotherapy drugs including gemcitabine and cisplatin.

Cannflavin A was first identified as an inhibitor of prostaglandin production. In 2024, a Trinity College Dublin team found it dampened inflammatory signalling in human immune cells.

A University of Adelaide team reported that low concentrations of cannflavin A lifted neuronal cell viability by up to 40% in the lab, while also slowing the clumping of amyloid-beta — the protein aggregation associated with Alzheimer’s disease — and shielding neighbouring cells from its damage. The same study found the effect disappears at higher doses, which is why the dose and the molecule, not the plate, are what researchers are measuring.

30×

More potent than aspirin at blocking prostaglandins — in the lab.

When cannflavin was first isolated in 1985, it suppressed prostaglandin production in cultured human joint cells nearly 30 times more effectively than aspirin, gram for gram. The University of Guelph repeated that comparison in 2019 while mapping how the hemp plant builds these molecules.

Measured on purified cannflavin in cell cultures — not a claim about eating hemp greens.

These are laboratory and preclinical studies, not dietary advice. Hemp Greens are a whole food grown for the table — we point to the research because it is where this plant’s story is heading, not because a plate of greens delivers a result.

Lab Verified

Zero THC. Independently verified.

Third-party lab testing confirms our greens contain no detectable THC — just the clean, distinctive character of a young hemp plant.
